When Do Birds Sing?

We are enjoying the house wren’s song. It is their first time finding this house.
Tree swallows let us know the hole was too small. After that renovation they have taken ownership of this house that has been waiting.
A Hooded Merganser pair has nested here for three summer now. Other ducks and geese have landed on the pond, but this pair is the only one to call it home.
Eastern Phoebes have nested on the porch every year.
The birds usually don’t pose for pictures, but the Phoebe was ok with me snapping this pic.

We love watching and listening to the birds who call our yard home. Many we do not see, but we hear them…Goldfinches, Orioles, Least Flycatcher, Ovenbird, Veery, Song Sparrow, Yellow-throated Vireo, Robins, and more. Occasionally, the Pileated Woodpecker flies through the yard. A scarlet tanager showed up one day.

It is fun to be entertained by nature and reminded of the One who created it all!

So fun for you and Walt!

On day five of creation the birds all came into being! So, each Thursday, I mentally note their existence, and praise God for them! Celanie sent a video this week of a mocking bird singing on top of their home, and it sang many songs throughout the day!

What a wonderful Creator we have! ❤️🙌
